Subject: Move WordPress files to Root Directory - move wordpress to httpdocs
The following message was sent by our staff regarding the above subject:
Hello,
There are times when you need to move WordPress around within your server, and times when you need to move WordPress from one server to another. You don't need to reinstall. WordPress is flexible enough to handle all of these situations.
There are full instructions as well as hyperlinks to useful sites with tips and methods available from the Wordpress gurus to accurately and properly move Wordpress.
Before doing so, I'd recommend exporting your database with Database Admin -> Export for safe keeping.
If you also change permission for .htaccess file in httpdocs/ and /wordpress to 666 (Read/Write) it will allow Wordpress Admin to re-write the file to make its own corrections.
Please visit the following page for the most current and up-to-date information:

We will be more than happy to assist you with anything that needs to be performed server side, (such as Linux commands, and file transfers) as well as pointing you to the config files that need to be updated.
Please feel free to contact us again at any time if you need additional assistance. Thank you for contacting us.
