Subject: Where should I go to change my domain’s DNS settings to point to my hosting server
The following message was sent by our staff regarding the above subject:
DNS settings are changed through your domain registrar.
Webmasters now uses the following domain name servers (DNS) for all web hosting accounts.
dns1.webmasters.com
dns2.webmasters.com
dns3.webmasters.com
dns4.webmasters.com
*If webmasters.com is your domain registrar, you will need to log into your Domain Registration account at https://www.4admin.com (middle box) and access the [DNS Settings] tool to replace the current DNS with what is shown above.
*IMPORTANT*
In order for the new DNS to work, you must edit your hosting zone record with the DNS Manager.
Please do the following.
1) Click on DNS Manager from the WEB HOSTING account (not Domain Registration)
2) Remove the current two sets of NS and A records such as:
domain.com. IN NS xx.webmasters.com.
domain.com. IN NS xx.webmasters.com.
nsxx.webmasters.com. IN A 1.2.3.4.
nsxx.webmasters.com. IN A 4.3.2.1.
This will disable these records. There are four total.
3) Now insert the new records - replacing domain.com with your domain name.
domain.com. IN NS dns1.webmasters.com.
domain.com. IN NS dns2.webmasters.com.
domain.com. IN NS dns3.webmasters.com.
domain.com. IN NS dns4.webmasters.com.
Everything else will stay the same.
4) Save Changes.
Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions or issues. Thank you for contacting us.
Best regards,
