Subject: Addon Domains - Choose the best option for your addons
The following message was sent by our staff regarding the above subject:
Dear Customer,
You have a few options, Frame Forwarding being one of them. The "Hosted" option functions most like a mini-website. You can forward using the Standard or IP options. Both Standard and Frame Forwarding are free. Standard will show your primary account domain in the address bar, and Frame will freeze the addon domain in the address bar (http://www.addondomain.com), limiting user's ability to bookmark inside pages.
IP forwarding costs an additional $5 a month, and most of our customers use this when they want to display the forwarded domain (johnwboydjr.com) in the url and still allow visitors to bookmark pages. The added bonus is that you only need one unique IP to host all of your addon domains using the IP Forward option.
Aside from the Hosted option, all of the others do not have isolated bandwidth restrictions and can feed off of the main site's bandwidth allotment. In saying this, that means the files in the "Hosted" area would need to be moved to a different folder in your main account, and then the url would need to be forwarded to that directory folder. Please review the detailed guide in the Addon Domains area for detailed instructions on how to move forward with the choice that makes the most sense for your business.
Incidentally, you can use any or all of these options as needed within your main account, allowing you the freedom to select the best choice for each addon within your account.
Please feel free to contact us again at any time if you need additional assistance. Thank you for contacting us.
Best regards,
Sterling
